About

www.nick-provost.com/

I’ve always been a “crazy” kid. During recess, I would be the kid the teachers were yelling at to get down from certain parts of the playground because it was too “dangerous”. It felt like I was born to be crazy and do things that other would consider being dangerous. It all started when I was 14 years old. My buddy Seb showed me a youtube video of a russian free running. Later, we were in my backyard doing tricks on my trampoline and I was doing flips off my tramp onto the grass. He then suggested that I try one off my deck onto the grass. I tried it and landed it first shot! So, right after, we went to a near-by school and I did front flips everywhere! It was from that point on that I became addicted to free running.

I was free running alone for a while and then one day I found out about a gym that I could practice at! That summer I learned more tricks than I ever had in my life! To this day I still train every week at that gym to get better.

I started getting more and more into free running and doing it almost every day to the point where it took over most of my life. Soon enough everything I did involved it. I even did school projects on flips when I had the chance! Then I started going to the University of Ottawa in a major in computer science and a minor in math. About that time I also got an iPhone 4. I got an app for my phone that showed free running tricks and stuff and most of the names were inaccurate. That kinda pissed me off so, since I was learning programming
in school, I decided to make my own apps teaching people how to parkour/free run. That’s how the "Parkour Tutorials" apps were born. I made them to help people learn new tricks and to teach the proper terms.

One day I decided I wanted free running clothing. I searched and it turned out that most of them were really expensive to buy and then ship to Canada. So I decided to make my own so I could buy them cheap and others could too. So far I only have them on www.cafepress.com but I dream of one day having a larger clothing line with better designs so free runners all over the world could wear their passion for a small price.

In august 2011 I graduated from the International Stunt School in the pursuit of my life long dream of doing free running and stunts as a career! After I came back from stunt school, I started training a lot more with a group of 4 other free runners. This became a regular thing and we trained together 3-5 times a week. One day we just decided to form the team Axis!

This brings us to the present day. I train with my team all the time while I am currently still studying in university.

Hope you guys enjoyed getting to know me! If you have any other questions about me, just send me an e-mail.
